THE OTMOOR CHALLENGE

THE 31st OTMOOR CHALLENGE – SATURDAY, 5th. JUNE, 2010.
INFORMATION FOR WALKERS

Courses are set around the tracks, roads and footpaths of Otmoor, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Situated just seven miles from the centres of Bicester and Oxford, Otmoor enjoys unique flora and fauna and a long history dating back to Roman Britain.

The Challenge starts and finishes on the Playing Field at Horton-cum-Studley – as usual a traditional Village Fete will be open as an added attraction.

Again this year a shorter route of five miles is offered to walkers as an alternative to the more challenging half-marathon thirteen miles. Maps are provided for clearly-marked courses; refreshments and First Aid are at all checkpoints.

Once you have registered with starting officials on the field between 9 a.m. and 12 noon (refreshments will be available from 10.30 a.m.) you may start the walk whenever you like. Please note that checkpoints will not be in place before 9 a.m. On your return to the registration desk you will be awarded a specially designed badge as a memento of the event. Walkers every year agree that the Otmoor Challenge is a most pleasant way to raise money for their favourite charities.

You can either be sponsored – and get your friends and family to give support – or pay a £5 entry fee on the day. A special Sponsorship Form may be downloaded from the link on the Home Page for you to complete if you are being sponsored. When you have completed the walk ask the official on the field to stamp your form and then collect your money and send the total as soon as possible (not later than the end of July) to:
Julie Ogden, Home Close, Horton-cum-Studley, Oxford. OX33 lAW. (Tel: 01865-351421)

Groups should send in the total amount through the leader named on the registration card. Cheques should be made payable to 'The Otmoor Challenge Association'. 20% will be deducted from your total sponsorship money if it totals £30 or more. If less than £30, £5 will be deducted. These deductions contribute to the costs of the event and local charities.

If you wish to present a cheque personally to your nominated charity please inform Julie Ogden when sending in your money and a cheque for your charity will be sent to you.
We hope you will take part and have an enjoyable day.
