OTMOOR CHALLENGE & FETE

HALF
MARATHON COMPETITIVE RUN
FACT SHEET FOR RUNNERS
The course
is set around the roads, tracks and footpaths of Otmoor, an area of
outstanding beauty. Situated just seven miles from the centres of Oxford
and Bicester, Otmoor enjoys unique flora and fauna and a long history
dating back to Roman Britain. While some runners may be oblivious to
these surroundings, the event attracts serious athletes from all over
England as the name of Otmoor is well known throughout Britain. The
Challenge starts and finishes on the playing field at Horton-cum-Studley
where a traditional Village Fete is an added attraction for friends,
family and your supporters while you are on the Run. There is ample
free parking.
The course is clearly marked in miles and drinking points are at all
checkpoints. First Aid and ambulances are on the playing field and around
the course itself Refreshments will be available on the field from 10.30
a.m. We award a 2011 medal to the first 350 runners home. The rest of
the field will be awarded a Tracksuit Badge.
The Otmoor Challenge is a competitive, timed run for individuals and
teams. It has a massed start at 2 p.m. for all registered runners aged
16 years and over. The following awards will be made:
The Noral Cup to the fastest man and awards for the first 6 home.
A Silver Plate to the fastest woman and awards for the first
4 home.
The Otmoor Cup to the fastest man veteran (40+) and awards for
the first 3 home.
The Nexel Cup to the fastest woman veteran (40+) and awards for
the first 3 home.
The Wenden Cup to the fastest man super-veteran (50+) and awards
for the first 3 home.
The Women's Institute Cup to the fastest woman super-veteran
(50+) and awards for the first 3 home
The Ogden Trophy to the runner in 100th place.
TEAMS:
Challenge Cup and Awards to all 4 members of the first MEN'S TEAM
to have all its members home.
Challenge Trophy and Awards to all 4 members of the first WOMEN'S
TEAM to have all its members home.
